Feast on Fourth: Fall Edition Returns September 23-27
Calgary’s five-day food festival ‘Feast on Fourth’ invites food lovers to embark on a walkable, budget-friendly culinary adventure along vibrant and bustling 4th Street, with more than 30 food and retail businesses joining the festivities.
With a wide variety of restaurants and cafes participating and sponsorship from X92.9, Dished and Urba, the festival offers an opportunity to explore a unique range of cuisines and offerings for just $10.
However, this year, we’re doing things a little differently. A cavalcade of retail businesses also put forward offers starting at $10 in a bid to bring our ‘spend small, taste all’ motto to a wider audience on Fourth Street, making diverse and delicious dishes and exclusive offers accessible to everyone, without breaking the bank.
Jennifer Rempel, executive director at Fourth Street BIA, explains: “Our Spring Edition of Feast on Fourth was a huge success, but with a new season comes new opportunities to showcase the incredible businesses at the heart of Calgary’s vibrant Fourth Street community.
“Everyone knows Fourth Street for its diverse and celebrated food scene,” Jennifer continues, “but there are so many local retailers and businesses to explore - many of which have been staples of our skincare rituals, wardrobes and workout routines for years - and we’re excited to have them involved in what promises to be five days of fun, food and festivities.”
Double the Size, Double the Offers
This marks the sixth iteration of Feast on Fourth, which first kicked-off in Spring 2024 with just 16 of Fourth Street’s best food establishments. However, with contributions from retail businesses throughout the street, this season’s festivities are twice as big as previous years, with contributions from Pilates studios, florists and of course, your favourite food spots in the city.
“Being part of 4 Street’s Feast on Fourth is a great way to attract Calgarians to the area to experience everything this neighborhood has to offer,” says Joshua Soares, regional manager at BODEGA Tapas Bar by SABOR.
Joshua remarks BODEGA was “absolutely slammed” during our Spring Edition of Feast on Fourth, which allowed the Spanish-inspired tapas bar - which had only been open for less than a year - to “introduce our brand to new guests and show them our brand of hospitality”.
On the topic, he continues: “If the traffic we had in April is any indication of the interest people have in great food on 4th - allowing all retailers and shops to showcase a $10 deal gives more reasons to visit 4th Street throughout the year.”
New Faces on the Block
Tucked away “slightly off the beaten track”, Anna Ho, owner of Article Apparels, admits her is “not the easiest place to stumble upon”; however, she is optimistic Feast on Fourth will drive new people to the business as they peruse Fourth Street.
“As first-time participants in Feast on Fourth, we’re excited to be part of an event which encourages people to explore some of the local gems they may not have discovered yet,” Anna says.
“We love that Feast on Fourth gives businesses like ours an opportunity to connect with the community, collaborate with our neighbours and introduce more people to what we do.
Anna continues: “We’re most excited to meet new people, welcome some new faces into our little house and, hopefully, send a few people home with something they absolutely did not come looking for.”
Feast on Fourth takes place September 23-27 across Fourth Street.
