Find It On Fourth: Brunch on the Block

Breakfast, lunch, brunch. Some said we would have flying cars by now, but instead we have created an amalgamation of your two favourite meals to satisfy your tastebuds between the specific hours of 10am and 2pm (yes, these are actually the hours of brunch).

For all Fourth Street’s wayward foodies, we’ve compiled a list of the best brunch spots to start your day-slash-early afternoon on the best note possible.

You bring your appetite, we’ve got the goods!

Let’s say you’re looking for a classic brunch spot, but you’re not sure what the vibe is with your friends. OEB Breakfast Co. and Red’s Diner are main-stays in the brunch world, while more upscale spots such as Mercato, Seed N Salt and Earls Kitchen + Bar can accommodate anything from a quick mimosa to a work meeting, all without breaking the bank.

Hoping for more of a caffeinated start to your day? We’ve got enough coffee shops to have you shaking at the knees (though we do not recommend drinking that much coffee in one day). If you’re in the mood for something a little more conventional, Starbucks Coffee and Phil & Sebastian Coffee Roasters will have just what you need to kick-start your day. In terms of something a little more local, Good Earth Coffeehouse, I Love You Coffee Shop, La Boulangerie Bakery Cafe and Jara Cafe are sure to put a little pep in your step.

It’s hard to say no to a good ol’ sandwich at brunch time, so take your pick of Subway, Paris Baguette and Firehouse Subs are ideal for your midday carb-fix; or if you’re looking for something a little more cheesy, take a dander to Famoso Neapolitan Pizzeria, Fourth Street Pizza or Blaze Pizza instead.

However, there’s far more to Fourth Street than your run-of-the-mill brunch spots. If you’re on the search for something a little different on your next trip downtown, why not try out something warm and comforting at JINYA Ramen Bar, Kinton Ramen or Pho Daddy? Anejo has everything you need for your Mexican food fix; a light snack at Hana Sushi will keep you feeling fresh for the rest of your day; Aida's Bistro has a plethora of small and sharing plates; Kim’s Katsu claims to have ‘hands down the best Katsu in town’ and KOKOCUPS is home to hearty and comforting noodle dishes.

No matter where you go for your next brunch date, meeting or solo grab-and-go, there’s something for everyone on Fourth Street.
