Find It On Fourth: Date Night Edition

Everyone loves a summer’s day, but oh those summer nights.

Whether you’re looking for love or you just want to share a special night with your other half, there’s no shortage of places to make sparks fly on your next date.

Take full advantage of the good weather (while it lasts), good vibes and loads of incredible bars and restaurants on Fourth Street. Tell me more, tell me more? Oh, we’ve got you covered.

If you’re going for that classic European vibe to ignite the romance, Fleur de Sel Brasserie, Aida's Bistro, Bodega and My Little Italia have enough bohemian charm to make you and your date want to share a spaghetti bolognese in an animated rustic backstreet (though we don’t recommend this personally, it works better for animated dogs). However, you might want to swap out the European aesthetic for something a little more North American - Class Clown Hamburgers is commonly called the best burger in Calgary.

In the mood for something a little more adventurous? People say tacos are a risky maneuvre to eat tacos on a first date, but Anejo’s chips, guac and amazing margaritas are enough to cut through any potential tensions as you get to know each other. Likewise, keep a napkin handy and stop by JINYA Ramen Bar or Kinton Ramen for some comforting food which will bring a cosiness to any date,

Narikatsu, Rajdoot and Shokunin are all close together on Fourth Street, but they’re all very different in terms of their aesthetics and cuisines. Why not have a look on their social media and decide for yourself which one fits the vibe for your next night on the town.

Dates can look a lot of different ways - whether its traipsing around Masters Gallery, admiring the street’s art installations or grabbing an ice cream at Abbey’s Creations - but sometimes it’s worth taking the classic ‘wine and dine’ approach. Vin Room and Missy's This That are incredible spots to share a bottle of wine or a cocktail in a relaxed environment where you can really get to know your date, whether you’ve been together for 20 years or 20 minutes.

If you’re not feeling quite as fancy, Elephant & Castle, Unicorn on 4th, Joyce on 4th or Blowers & Grafton are perfect for getting to know someone a little better over a jar or two.

You know what they say: if you can’t take a date, take a mate. Absolutely everywhere listed above is ideal for hanging out with old friends or making new ones, so keep your spirits high on Fourth Street and the ambience will do the rest.
