Ty Bridgwater’s Fourth Street Favourites
Calgary’s no-nonsense food reviewer Ty Bridgwater just shared a list of places to eat in Cowtown… and most of them are on 4th Street.
Discussing his favourite food spots in the city, Ty talked through “the places [he] suggests to everybody”, kicking off with the best burger in town: Class Clown Hamburgers.
“This is probably my top-rated spot,” Ty began. “I tell everyone to go here. It's amazing burgers.” As well as being a great spot to eat indoors, Ty also recommended their takeout option if the waitlist is a little too long for your liking. “You can't go wrong,” he added.
The next 4th Street business to high Ty’s highlight reel is BODEGA Tapas Bar by SABOR. “Shout out the Spaniards,” he exclaimed, before talking through some of his top menu items.
“You can go on Thursday [and] they got two for $88. You get a bottle of wine, some chef tapas. I got a paella with it. It's an amazing place. The olives are good if you're an olive person.
“I would go here if you want a nice sit down,” he added, suggesting customers try out the Portuguese wine (“shout out the Portuguese”).
Last but not least, Ty gave a shoutout to “the best lobster rolls [he’s] ever seen in [his] life” at Blowers & Grafton.
Alongside their East Coast oysters - which Blowers & Grafton source straight from Prince Edward Island - Ty explained: “The lobster rolls are amazing. I get them every time. They're my favorite thing in the world.
“These are just places that I love, to be honest with you,” he continued, noting most of these places are in the same area of Calgary (4th Street, of course).
Ty added: “Those are the places I probably suggest the most to people. They're pretty much downtown, or like in that area of Calgary, so you can go enjoy it, take a date, family, whatever. It's probably some of the best food.”
“Don't listen to me, I'm just a guy that tries food; but these are the places that I love,” Ty concluded.
